FAQ

Common questions about custom websites, website builder design, templates, the build process and working with The Queens Web.

Choosing your path

Should I choose a Custom Website, Website Builder Design, or a Website Template?

Choose a Custom Website when you want the design, structure and development created specifically around your business, brand, content, functionality and goals rather than working within the structure of a website-building platform. Choose Website Builder Design when you want a professionally designed website or ecommerce store created inside a supported website builder such as Wix, Squarespace, Hostinger Website Builder or Shopify. Choose a Website Template when you want a professionally designed Canva starting point that you can customize at a lower entry cost. If you are not sure, the consultation can help you choose the most practical route.

How do I know which custom website package I need?

Page count gives us a starting point, but functionality matters too. A straightforward multi-page site may fit a lower package while a smaller project with advanced movement, forms or integrations may require more scope. The consultation confirms the most practical fit before you commit.

Do you offer e-commerce websites?

Yes. Ecommerce websites are available through Website Builder Design when an ecommerce-capable platform is the right fit. Ecommerce projects start at $1,699 and can include the core storefront, up to 10 products, product categories or collections, cart and checkout setup, payment-provider connection, basic shipping and platform-supported tax configuration, mobile optimization and launch testing. Larger catalogs, subscriptions, advanced product options or more complex selling features are quoted based on scope. Platform subscriptions and transaction or payment-provider fees are paid directly to the provider.

Building the site

Can you build my site on a website builder?

Yes. Website Builder Design is a full Queens Web service for clients who want a professionally designed website built inside a platform they can manage after launch. Supported traditional website builders include Wix, Squarespace, Hostinger Website Builder and Shopify. Canva websites are also available, but they are scoped separately because Canva is a visual design platform rather than a traditional website builder and can require a more manual desktop-and-mobile design process.

Can you move my site off Wix, Squarespace or another website builder?

Yes. Migration & Rebuild is for people who have outgrown their current builder or want a different design, more flexibility or functionality the existing platform no longer supports. The existing site is reviewed first so we can determine what should be kept, improved or rebuilt.

Can scheduling or other tools be connected?

Yes. Established services for scheduling, newsletters, forms and similar needs can usually be integrated when appropriate. If the project needs a custom-built system rather than an integration, that is quoted separately.

What counts as a revision round?

A revision round is one consolidated set of reasonable changes submitted together during the build. New pages, new functionality, a new design direction or major changes to previously approved work are outside a standard revision round and may require an additional quote. The 30 days of post-launch technical support are separate from revision rounds.

How are custom website projects paid?

Starter, Launch and Essential projects are typically split into two payments: 50% to reserve the project and begin work, and 50% before launch. Expanded and Signature projects are typically divided into three milestones: 40% to begin, 30% at an agreed design/build milestone and 30% before launch. Larger or more complex projects may use a custom payment schedule, which is provided before booking.

How long does a website project take?

Your expected timeline is confirmed before booking and depends on the scope, content readiness, integrations, feedback time and any custom functionality involved. The Queens Web does not use one fixed turnaround time for every project because a focused one-page site and a highly customized platform require different amounts of work.

What do I need to provide before the project begins?

What you need to provide depends on the project, but most builds require your final or near-final copy, logo and brand assets, approved images or media, relevant business information and access to any existing domain or third-party services that need to be connected. Timely feedback and approvals also help keep the agreed schedule on track.

After launch

What happens after my website launches?

Every new Queens Web website includes 30 days of post-launch support for issues related to the delivered site. After that, eligible custom websites and digital platforms built by The Queens Web can continue with Website Care or Platform Care. Occasional updates can still be requested without a subscription.
